Professional Statement

Thank you for choosing Betsy Thurston!

Betsy has been a dietician for over 30 years, and in private practice for 6 years! Betsy's background is extensive in the field of nutrition and behavior change; she has certifications in adult weight management, and advanced training as an eating disorder clinician and holistic health coach.

Betsy is here to help you with weight loss, binge eating, unhealthy food habits that are in need of a makeover, and any type of food or weight dilemma.  She can halt the destructive cycle and help transition to healthy eating. She gets to the root of the problem, targeting the foods as well as behaviors, beliefs, thoughts, habits and patterns.

Betsy has a close connection to those struggling with addiction after watching a loved one fight that personal battle. She believes this experience has been instrumental in helping her own clients that struggle with food addiction. Betsy's approach is holistic, practical, no nonsense, and results oriented.

Your issues might take a period of time to work through; or your problem might be something relatively simple, like not knowing what foods to shop for or how to cook them. She can help you learn to reframe ineffective thinking, to replace unhealthy habits with healthy ones, to stop unwanted behaviors in the moment, and to learn to love and appreciate yourself.

Betsy Thurston is mother to 3 beautiful children in their twenties; and even though she misses having them in the house, her two golden retrievers keep her company, as well as active, with their many walks in the Georgia Woods.  She also enjoys working with her flower gardens, reading about spirituality and psychology, and attending rocking jazzercise classes.
